Our Stock of the Week is Cross Country Healthcare (CCRN). CCRN provides medical staffing for healthcare. It operates in two segments, Nurse and Allied Staffing and Physician Staffing. The Nurse and Allied Staffing segment offer temporary and permanent placement of nurses and allied professionals. The Physician Staffing segment provides physicians in various specialties, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants under the Cross Country Locums brand as independent contractors.

The company has been growing very rapidly and saw revenue in the most recent quarter jumped 127%, while eps nearly tripled to $1.40 from $0.47. It recently raised its third quarter eps view to $0.90 to $1.00, which should be reported in early November.

There are three recent buy reiterations with an average price target of $42.67.

Technically, the stock has been ignoring the bear market action and has formed a complex cup-with-handle pattern as it confronts overhead resistance at $30. We are looking for positive expectations in front of the report coupled with a safe-haven status to help the stock navigate this very tough market.

As always, we would not chase the open on Monday but would look to aggressively trade the stock into volatility.
